Over the past few weeks we’ve introduced you to several members of our OpenLogic support team. Our open source architects become an extension of your team and because of that we want you to meet them, understand their expertise, their passion for open source, and how they can help you.
Tendai is an enterprise architect on the OpenLogic support team at Rogue Wave Software.
I have over 25 years of experience as an architect and software developer utilizing languages like C, C++, and Java. I have acted as a development lead in the implementation of a number of mission-critical systems for enterprises primarily in the finance, automotive, and healthcare industries. I am a Dale Carnegie graduate, a Sun-certified Java Developer, and a Certified ScrumMaster.
Years of experience: 25+
What is your area of expertise?
Which packages do you work on primarily?
How do you contribute back to the open source community?
As we work to assist our customers with resolving their issues, there are times when a bug is found in the underlying OSS package. When that occurs, we will submit the bug to the OSS community along with detailed documentation on how to reproduce it. We may also suggest a specific fix to the community to expedite the resolution of the bug in future package versions.
Where do you go to stay informed about open source?
I read a variety of online periodicals like DZone. The other experts on my team also help to keep me informed on notable developments in OSS. We also create training material that we provide on the latest versions of the most popular OSS. Keeping this material up-to-date requires us to have a detailed understanding of the new features introduced in new OSS versions.
