Klocwork Insight integrated with Electric Cloud’s SPM solutions enable testing early and often throughout software production process

EMBEDDED SYSTEMS CONFERENCE, SAN JOSE, Calif. — Apr 15, 2008 — Electric Cloud®, a leading provider of software production management(SPM) solutions, and Klocwork, a global leader in automated source code analysis solutions for improving software security and quality, today announced that Electric Cloud’s ElectricCommander® and ElectricAccelerator® have been integrated with Klocwork Insight. The integration of Electric Cloud’s solutions for automating and accelerating the software build and release process with Klocwork’s source code analysis solution can help organizations deliver improved software quality through the fast, automatic and frequent testing of code early in the software development lifecycle.

“Agile software development means putting as much of the build and test process in the hands of developers as possible,” said Mike Maciag, Electric Cloud’s chief executive officer. “The integration will make it easy for developers to run builds and static analysis tests before code is checked in, resulting in better software quality. The financial impact is huge, as defects are found and corrected early in the process when they are least expensive to address.”

Klocwork’s leading static source code analysis tools provide powerful, collaborative analysis of C/C++ and Java code at the earliest point in the software development process – before code check-in. Klocwork Insight is the only source code analysis solution with a Connected Desktop Analysis capability that enables developers to run the analysis with full system context right at their desktop, before they check-in their code.

Electric Cloud’s ElectricCommander is the only enterprise-class solution for automating and managing the software build/test/deploy process. It is language and build tool-agnostic, making software production tasks in any environment more repeatable, more visible, and more efficient. ElectricAccelerator can reduce build times by as much as 20 times with patented technology that executes parallel builds across scalable clusters of standard servers.

“This partnership has been actively requested by a number of our joint customers and we are excited to be working with Electric Cloud, whose cutting edge software production management technologies are well known,” said Mike Laginski, Klocwork’s chief executive officer. “In order to enable effective source code analysis, any solution must have the ability to tightly integrate with a software project’s native build environment and Klocwork has been delivering that capability for years. This announcement dramatically enhances this approach by ensuring that Klocwork’s analysis is tightly coupled with Electric Cloud’s solutions for automating and accelerating the build-test-deploy process. This allows our joint customers to run their Electric Cloud builds and Klocwork analysis builds in tandem, enabling tight process integration and ensuring accurate analysis results.”
