Partnership enables joint customers to leverage both market-leading tools from within a single development environment
BURLINGTON, Mass. — Jan 12, 2006 — Klocwork Inc., the proven leader in automated software solutions that improve software security and quality, today announced a partnership with Wind River Systems Inc. to enable joint customers to use Klocwork’s industry leading static analysis solutions within their Wind River Workbench environment. As part of the partnership, Klocwork will integrate its K7 product suite with Workbench, the industry’s first and only Eclipse-based open device software development solution that offers deep capability for developers across the entire development process in a single integrated suite.
Announced in June 2005, Klocwork K7 is the first fully integrated software security and software quality solution that helps development teams ensure customer-affecting software problems are found and fixed early in the software lifecycle. Klocwork K7 addresses critical customer pain points and provides cross-functional teams with the tools needed to quickly identify software defects and vulnerabilities. In addition to an extensive list of checkers that focus on the most likely causes of security flaws and vulnerabilities, K7 uniquely includes architectural controls, extensive metrics analysis, reporting and control, and extensibility to allow for custom analysis.
Wind River Workbench addresses challenges that effect individual developers, project teams and the enterprise. It provides a scalable development suite that increases individual productivity, enables collaboration among hardware and software developers within a project team and meets the diverse development needs across the enterprise. Klocwork’s K7 is designed to seamlessly integrate into industry leading integrated development environments (IDEs), like Wind River’s, as well as customers’ existing software development processes. Klocwork and Wind River already have a common customer base that will benefit from this resulting integrated solution.
“Klocwork and Wind River share many of the same customers, so it is only natural that we want to offer these mutual customers the best end-to-end integrated solution for developing high-quality products,” said Mike Laginski, CEO of Klocwork. “Now, customers working in Wind River’s Workbench environment will be able to access Klocwork’s K7 tools to identify security vulnerabilities and software defects early in the development process – when they are least expensive to fix.”
